How To Apply for Funding through Ohio TechCred
Step 1: Identify Training Needs

Step 2: Partner with Approved Training Provider

Working with an approved training provider like Phishbuster Academy is essential. If the training providers is not on the approved list, then your organization will not receive a reimbursement.
Step 3: Select Training Program

Step 4: Apply Online

Submit your application for TechCred funding through the portal during the designated application periods. View Application Requirements.
Step 5: Enroll in Staff Training Programs

Once your program is approved, it is time to enroll your employees in the training program(s) through your partner training provider.
Step 6: Submit Application

Once the staff member(s) complete the approved training course, it’s time to submit the reimbursement form. Be sure to include all required documentation and details about the chosen training programs. For more information, please review this document.
Step 7: Receive Funds

Once your reimbursement claims are processed and approved, you will receive funds from Ohio TechCred to offset the costs of employee training. These funds can be used to reinvest in additional training initiatives or other business priorities.

How much is an Ohio TechCred Reimbursement?
Employers who submit successful applications can receive up to $2,000 per credential when employees complete eligible credentials, with reimbursement potential of $30,000 per funding round.
What makes a credential eligible?
TechCred was designed to assist organizations with upskilling their current labor force. To do that, they focus on three things – industry recognized, technology-focused, and short-term (can be completed in less than a year).
Which employers are eligible for Ohio TechCred funding?
Any employer who is registered with the state of Ohio, has a physical location within the state, and employs W2 employees who reside in Ohio is eligible to apply for TechCred. Only one application per employer per application period will be accepted.
What are the employer size classifications?
1 to 50 employees is considered small; 51 to 200 employees is considered medium; and 201+ employees is considered large.
What is the timeline of getting reimbursed from Ohio TechCred?
Credentials are required to be completed within 12 months from the date of award. Once completed, employers have a six (6) week window to submit the necessary documentation.
